JamesWDH

Privacy policy

Effective August 25, 2026. This policy explains what JamesWDH collects when you browse the site, take an assessment, or use a learning portal account.

Browsing the site

You can read the homepage, course pages and training calendar without an account and without giving any personal information. These public marketing pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to report aggregate traffic, referral, device, country and page-performance information. Analytics is not enabled in the admin area, account pages, assessments, course players, code-redemption flows or password-reset pages. Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data. The site does not run advertising trackers or sell or share personal information with advertisers.

Training inquiries and bookings

When you email or submit a booking or training inquiry, JamesWDH uses the details you provide to reply, prepare the session and deliver the requested service. Inquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed for that purpose and for ordinary business records.

Learning portal accounts

Creating an account stores your email address, an optional display name and your password. Passwords are never stored in readable form: only a one-way hash is kept, so the original password cannot be recovered from the database. Accounts also record the class or exam codes you redeem and your progress through the training material.

Free skills checks

The public skills check asks only for a nickname you choose. It does not require an email address or an account. A device token is stored in your browser so weekly attempt limits can be applied, along with your answers and score for that attempt.

Security and activity logs

Sign-in, registration, password-reset and code-redemption events are logged with a timestamp and the IP address the request came from. These logs exist to protect accounts against unauthorised access and abuse, and are not used to build marketing profiles.

Cookies and browser storage

The site stores a sign-in token to keep you logged in, your language preference, and the assessment device token described above. These are functional only: there are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and resets these preferences.

Service providers

The site runs on hosting, database, file-storage and public-site analytics services (currently Render, Neon and Cloudflare) that process data on behalf of JamesWDH in order to operate and understand the site. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Training and third-party services

Sessions delivered through Microsoft Teams or other linked services operate under those providers’ own privacy policies, and information you enter there is handled by them. Review their policies before providing information to them.

Data protection

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect account and training information, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections. Access is limited to people who need it to provide the service. No online service can promise perfect security, but issues affecting your data will be addressed promptly.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its data to be deleted. Requests are handled within a reasonable period, subject to any records that must be retained for legal or accounting reasons.

Children

Where training is delivered to young learners, arrangements are made with the school, organisation or parent responsible, and accounts are not marketed directly to children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes affecting account holders will be communicated directly where practical.
